Flowers~ {I love them}

flowers! lauren summer 2011 001

I love flowers! Can you tell? Well, actually I think this blog needs more flowers so I added a bit of my back yard. They were fun to take pictures of and I hope you enjoy and maybe get a little bit of inspiration!

All of these pictures were taken when it was raining. I think it makes the pictures look really nice with the gray background, although I did end up with a crazy hairdo!

I love this shot. Even though it is not a flower.

[F]riendship [B]racelets~

I love friendship bracelets! They are so cool! And they make GREAT gifts! So here is a very simple bracelet that I learned from a good friend.

What you need:

~ Embroidery Floss (you can find this at any craft store for less than a dollar)

~A Piece of Tape

~Scissors

(See what I mean about easy!) What you do:

1 Pick out three colors.

2 Wrap one color around your wrist to get a measure of how much you will need. Then wrap it around 5 more times. So, 6 times in all.

3Cut the string.

4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all of the colors.

5 Grab one end from all the colors and stretch them out

6 Grab the middle of all the strings, fold, and make a loop.

7 Make a knot at the base of the loop and tape both the knot and the loop to a surface.

8 Now it's time for the fun part! Separate by colors. There should be 3 strands of 2 colors.

9 Grab two of the color groups (strands) and make a knot, like the knot you use before you make a bow with your shoes. Cross the strands and guide one strand over the other and through the whole that is created.

10 You should now have one knot on the right side. Now take the two left strands and make another knot. Keep making knots while alternating sides until you get about 2 inches from the end. You may have to eyeball it but just make sure there is a little to tie with and there is enough to wrap around you wrist. Once you are finished, take all the strands and knot them together. 11 You are now finished! To wear, just tie the 2 inches of floss left through the loop. You can wear your bracelet very proudly or give it as a much accepted gift!

Enjoy!

The Closet~

My closet is a huge hodge podge of crafts, activities, and hobbies.

Sometimes I wonder when I will use all this stuff, but hopefully it will all come in handy one day.

So, this blog is going to share with you a bunch of random things that I am passionate about!
