Hair Tips {week 2}

Enjoy!

aAHair TipsAb

{week 2}

1) Okay, try to dab at your hair with a towel when you dry instead of rubbing. Rubbing can be rough on your hair and may hurt it. Also dab instead of rub your skin, just like your hair.

2) Stay away from the heat! Try to let your hair air dry if you can. If you can’t use the following tips.

3) When blow drying, try to hold your dryer at least 6 in. away. It will help your hair not get to damaged.

4) Use a thermal protector or heat protector on your hair to also protect from damage.

5) Use a Cool Blast button (on your hair dryer) if you don’t have a thermal protector. The hot air drys the hair and creates less frizz when pointed down, but the cool air sets the style and is safer used on your hair.

Just Another Day At The Beach

Just Another Day At The Beach
I decided to give you a little bit of fashion! I like fashion and being able to create outfits is so much fun!

Inspiration: The barn wood frames. I love the beach and the barn wood really put that old, rustic feel for the beach outfit.

Color: The bracelet totally brings the outfit together. It has all the colors being used in the outfit.

Absolutely LOVE: The clutch! So cute. It totally plays with the barn wood and it's beachy feel.

Tip: Simple can sometimes be better and being safe is always a good way to go. Sometimes though, going outside the box really pays off.

Pedicure {How To}

Here is a pedicure how to! Every Summer we girls always need a little buff. I got my supplies at a beauty supply store. Enjoy!

Pedicure

Step 1

Fill a large bowl with water and add some pebbles and soap.  You can find the pebbles at a craft store. Put feet in warm water.

Step 2

After 5-15 minutes, take feet out and wrap in a towel. Unwrap feet and scrub with a file scrubber. Put a nickel size amount of foot scrub in your hand and then gently rub in circles. Rinse off in extra water.

H2O+ Spa Pumice Foot Scrub 120g/4.2oz

Step 3

Dry feet again and massage foot with lotion. Pick out a pretty color of nail polish and paint! Let dry and then do a second coat. All done!

Hair Tips {Week 1}

Welcome to the first week of:

aa Hair Tips! ab

Hair care is very important and I am going to give you 5 hair tips a week to help you get out of that routine rut. I love getting new tips and seeing what works for my hair. This week we will start with the basics but most important. Washing! I hope you enjoy! :)

1) Do not wash your hair in steaming water. Wash it in lukewarm water. When the water is too hot it will damage the hair follicles.

2) Hair is sensitive. Don’t scrub your hair as if it was a carpet. :) Try rubbing in circular motions at your scalp and work toward the ends.

3) Find the shampoo for you. Ask your stylist if you don’t know what type to use.

4) Use a clarifying shampoo every once and a while. After using lots of products, our hair tends to get a build up. Another thing you can do is sprinkle some baking soda into your shampoo when washing and rinse really well. It will help with the build up.

5) Deep condition once a week. You can get it for as low as $3 and it will really help!

There you go! Have a GREAT week!!

flowers! lauren summer 2011 001

I love flowers! Can you tell? Well, actually I think this blog needs more flowers so I added a bit of my back yard. They were fun to take pictures of and I hope you enjoy and maybe get a little bit of inspiration!

All of these pictures were taken when it was raining. I think it makes the pictures look really nice with the gray background, although I did end up with a crazy hairdo!

[F]riendship [B]racelets~

I love friendship bracelets! They are so cool! And they make GREAT gifts! So here is a very simple bracelet that I learned from a good friend.

What you need:

~ Embroidery Floss (you can find this at any craft store for less than a dollar)

~A Piece of Tape

~Scissors

(See what I mean about easy!) What you do:

1 Pick out three colors.

2 Wrap one color around your wrist to get a measure of how much you will need. Then wrap it around 5 more times. So, 6 times in all.

3Cut the string.

4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all of the colors.

5 Grab one end from all the colors and stretch them out

6 Grab the middle of all the strings, fold, and make a loop.

7 Make a knot at the base of the loop and tape both the knot and the loop to a surface.

8 Now it's time for the fun part! Separate by colors. There should be 3 strands of 2 colors.

9 Grab two of the color groups (strands) and make a knot, like the knot you use before you make a bow with your shoes. Cross the strands and guide one strand over the other and through the whole that is created.

10 You should now have one knot on the right side. Now take the two left strands and make another knot. Keep making knots while alternating sides until you get about 2 inches from the end. You may have to eyeball it but just make sure there is a little to tie with and there is enough to wrap around you wrist. Once you are finished, take all the strands and knot them together. 11 You are now finished! To wear, just tie the 2 inches of floss left through the loop. You can wear your bracelet very proudly or give it as a much accepted gift!

Enjoy!

The Closet~

My closet is a huge hodge podge of crafts, activities, and hobbies.

Sometimes I wonder when I will use all this stuff, but hopefully it will all come in handy one day.

So, this blog is going to share with you a bunch of random things that I am passionate about!
